~Lemon-Ginger-Turmeric Iced Tea~

Summer is now here. Sunny days at the beach, or in the mountains to escape the heat. Relaxing weekends besides the pool, or in the shade at a park. Holidays spent travelling and visiting relatives, with big feasts and lots of Christmas parties and indulgences. Lazy afternoons watching the cricket, or trying to score 100 in the backyard. This absolutely healthy drink is like a bonus when your body needs a nit of TLC.


  • 500 ml water
  • ½ a lemon, sliced or rough chopped (or more to taste), zest included
  • 2.5 cm cubed piece ginger root, rough chopped (or more to taste)
  • big dash of turmeric
  • big dash cinnamon
  • honey to taste, preferably Leatherwood.

Fun bit:

Gently heat water in pot. Add in all other ingredients and bring to a boil on the stove. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Then remove from heat and allow the drink to cool off. Strain into a glass jar.
Chill overnight in the fridge for an iced tea (or enjoy hot straight away)!
